Academic and research interests are in the areas of organizational management, leadership, entrepreneurship and competitive intelligence. He is a member of the organization of Strategic and Competitive Intelligence Professionals (SCIP) and an expert in management science at the Latvian Council of Science. The professor is the author of several publications on management issues.
